While the NFL Playoffs arrive, the Jets and Giants once again find themselves watching from the outside. For the Jets, injuries, instability at quarterback, and a defense that did not record an interception this season ultimately proved too much to overcome. To get back into playoff contention, the Jets need to wisely use the second pick of the draft, improve quarterback play, and hope their playmakers stay healthy over a full season.
The Giants’ absence from the playoffs stemmed largely from offensive inconsistency and injuries. While the defense showed flashes, the Giants blew five leads of 10 or more points in the 4th quarter. Moving forward, the Giants must fill their head coaching vacancy with an experienced head coach who will instill a winning culture and continue building depth so injuries don’t derail the season.
Both franchises have foundational pieces in place, but turning potential into postseason success will require smart roster building, better health, and steadier execution week to week.
