Triple Crown Season 1956  Mantle accomplished what former Yankees stars Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio could not, Mantle won the elusive triple crown. His 52 blasts were 20 more than runner-up Vic Wertz, and Mantle’s RBI topped Al Kaline by two. He bested Ted Williams for the batting title .353 to .345. Mantle also led the Majors in total bases (376)  and runs scored (376) and runs scored (132). In the World Series he hit three homers and he was named A.L. MVP after the season!
